Mission Statement

The mission of the Risk Management Department is to effectively protect the School District´s human, financial and physical aspects and resources from the consequences of losses. We will accomplish this mission through the administration of our Employee Benefits; HealthVantage Wellness; Property, Liability and Workers´ Compensation; and Environmental Health and Safety Programs.

Vision Statement

The Vision of the Employee Benefits Division of the Risk Management Department is to provide leadership in designing, implementing, and administering high quality, cost effective benefit programs for employees and retirees to support the mission of the School District of Manatee County.

The Vision of the HealthVantage Wellness Program Division of the Risk Management Department is to enhance organizational health by fostering interest and encouraging employees to initiate or expand healthier lifestyles, provide diverse wellness programs to meet a wide range of personal health needs, recognize employees for participating in healthier lifestyle activities, decrease absenteeism due to illness and stress, and develop a positive school culture that is focused on celebrating and improving the quality of life for all employees.

The Vision of the Property, Liability and Workers´ Compensation Division of the Risk Management Department is to evaluate bodily injury or property damage claims presented to the School District promptly and impartially, providing a fair financial settlement when appropriate. With respect to Workers´ Compensation our vision is to return injured employees to the workplace in the most expeditious manner, by administering prompt, accurate and cost-efficient delivery of benefits.

The Vision of the Environmental Health and Safety Division of the Risk Management Department is to support the academic and administrative functions of the School District to help ensure a safe and secure work and learning environment as well as the management of hazardous materials in an environmentally sound manner. This is accomplished through collaborative, team-oriented methods that identify the optimum compliance strategies in harmony with the activities of the School District.
