Environmental Health & Safety

Our Vision

It is the vision of the Environmental Health and Safety Division to assure the safety and security of all students, staff and visitors and to hold the School District of Manatee County to the highest standards possible: making our District a safe and secure place to work and learn. We accomplish this vision through our programs in Emergency Preparedness, Fire Prevention and Safety, Environmental Protection and Building Security.

Emergency Preparedness

Our Division assists schools in the development of their emergency response plans and emergency drills to ensure the safety of our students and staff. Our Division also coordinates with other local public agencies in providing emergency preparedness support for community-wide disasters.

Fire Prevention and Safety

Our schools are inspected annually by the District´s certified Fire/Safety Inspector in coordination with local fire officials. Written fire/safety inspection reports are submitted to the School Board for their review by June 30th each year and are available to the public upon request.

Environmental Protection

The Environmental Health and Safety Division assures the District is in compliance with federal, state and local health and environmental standards.

Building Security

Our trained security staff is on duty evenings and weekends to protect against property damage and theft. Through their efforts the District continues to protect the tax payers investment in our District.
