Manatee Schools Honor Vets 
(Bradenton, FL. - November 5, 2010) Schools across Manatee County will take time during the week of Monday, November 8, through Friday, November 12, 2010 to remember the sacrifices made by the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Here are some of the ways various schools will honor Veterans Day:
BRADEN RIVER MIDDLE SCHOOL
The entire student body and staff at Braden River Middle School will be on hand for the always meaningful unveiling of a new Commemorative Veteran´s Tile during a special Veterans Day Flag Raising Ceremony in the school´s courtyard on November 10, 2010 beginning at 9:15 a.m. The ceremony highlights a weeklong Veterans celebration at Braden River Middle running from Monday, November 8, through Friday, November 12.
The Flag Raising Ceremony on Wednesday will include a Color Guard, patriotic performances from the school´s band, chorus and orchestra as well as guest speakers and veterans. A breakfast for veterans, parents and special guests will follow in the school´s Media Center. FREEDOM ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Freedom Elementary School will hold its annual “Let Freedom Ring Courtyard” Ceremony on Friday, November 12, 2010. Veterans will be on hand at the ceremony along with patriotic musical performances by students and flags representing all of the U.S. Military Services. DAUGHTREY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Members of the 75th Street VFW Post - including Post Commander Bill Fields - will speak at a special Veterans Day Ceremony at Daughtrey Preparatory School of Arts and Sciences on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 beginning at 9 a.m. The program will include a history of the American Flag as well as performances by Daughtrey´s Intermediate Chorus and String Ensemble. WILLIAMS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Williams Elementary will hold a Veterans Day Celebration at the school flag pole on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 9 a.m. Participants in the ceremony include the Palmetto High JROTC Color Guard, the Williams Elementary fourth and fifth grade Select Choir and a special solo by fifth-grade student Miranda Wolf.
