BOARD COMMENTS - (CONTINUED)
Mrs. Harvey
Recognition of Students - noted that Jordan and Sam Rich are members of North Rivers Crime Stoppers organization.
Gratitude to Dr. Moore - thanked Dr. Moore for the service he provides to students by offering tutorial sessions after church services at Rogers Community United Methodist Church.
Migrant Education Ceremony - said he was very impressed with the recent Migrant Education Awards Ceremony.
Children Services Activities Funding - noted that at the recent Children's Services Board Meeting, they were able to fund all of their existing service activities at either the present rate or a percentage higher.
13th Avenue Gala - thanked Mark Barnebey (School Board Attorney) and others for the involvement in this recent fund raising event.
School Newsletter - said she was happy to notice an issue of the Tillman Herald during her last visit to the grocery store.
Brown v. Board of Education - expressed appreciation to Judge Adams and others involved in this recent production. She said today we can all reflect on the fact that we all need each other. She said several people have said we have not made progress, but she claims that we have, as she was there fifty years ago, and we are moving in the right direction.

Compliments of Schools - Commended Manatee High School for the Reef project; agriculture at Palmetto High School; and the Bayshore High School awards ceremony.
Migrant Education Ceremony - said the District is meeting the needs of migrant education as evidenced by this event, and he was very impressed with the recent Migrant Education Awards Ceremony.
Brown v. Board of Education - deferred to Mrs. Harvey's eloquence regarding her remarks at this recent production.

Spring Band Concert at Lee Middle School - commended the performance of the Lee Middle School band at their Spring concert.
Migrant Education Ceremony - said the District is meeting the needs of migrant education as evidenced he was very impressed with the recent Migrant Education Awards Ceremony.
Outstanding School System - said the teachers and administrators in this school system are doing a wonderful job for children
Board Representation - reported that the Central Florida Public School Boards Coalition accepted the membership request of this School Board, and reported on the organization's expectations
SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT
1. Presentation of Award to Mark Barnebey, School Board Attorney - announced that Mark Barnebey was presented the honor of the Paul Buckman award on May 7.
2. Migrant Education Awards Ceremony - said this ceremony was the best he has ever attended.
3. Elementary Music Program - said the music program which was held at Neel Auditorium was outstanding.
