RECOGNITION OF STATE HEALTH OCCUPATION STUDENTS OF AMERICA (HOSA) WINNERS (DOUG WAGNER)

Recently the HOSA State competitions were held in Orlando, Florida.

RECOGNITION OF REGIONAL AND STATE SCIENCE FAIR WINNERS AND DONORS (JUDY GRIFFIN)

This year, 148 secondary students participated in the Manatee Regional Science and Engineering Fair held in January. Eleven first place winners from this fair were then eligible to participate at the state level in Jacksonville, Florida during April 14-17, 2004. One of these students was also awarded Best of Show and will be representing our district at the International Science and Engineering Fair in Portland, Oregon in May.

The following students represented Manatee County at the State Science and Engineering Fair in Jacksonville on April 14-17, 2004:

Kaitlyn Arnold will represent Manatee County at the International Science and Engineering Fair on May 9-15, 2004 in Portland, Oregon.

Every year, community partners financially support this program. The following donors will be recognized for their support:

U. S. Filter - $5,000.00 contribution
Biological Research Associates - Tee shirts for state fair participants
Manatee River Fair Association - Use of their facility for the Regional Science and Engineering Fair
