PROCLAMATION: TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK Ms. Edwards read the following proclamation: PROCLAMATION TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK WHEREAS, today's teachers mold our future citizens through their guidance and education, and WHEREAS, today's teachers encounter students of widely differing backgrounds and abilities, and WHEREAS, our society expects public education to provide quality education services to all children, no matter what their backgrounds or abilities, and WHEREAS, our country's future depends, in large measure, upon the education our youth receive today, and WHEREAS, teachers spend countless hours outside their classrooms preparing lessons, evaluating progress, counseling and coaching students and performing community service, and WHEREAS, our community recognizes that its teachers are providing quality education services to our children. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED THAT the School Board of Manatee County designates the week of May 2-8, 2004 as Teacher Appreciation Week in this community, and BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED THAT the School Board Chairman and Superintendent calls on the community to join with it in personally expressing appreciation to our teachers for a "job well done." IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the School Board Chairman and Superintendent have hereunto subscribed their names on this 3rd day of May, 2004. Approval of Purchase(s) Bids Under $100,000.00 Approval of License Agreement for N2H2 Internet Filter, MCSD No. 04-0105-SS Approved of contract renewal with Solunet, Inc., to provide Internet content filtering for the entire school district network, in an amount not to exceed $63,000.00 The expenditure is for a three year subscription. Funding for this contract is included in the Technology and Information Systems Budgetary Account. Contracts and Grants 1. Approved the renewal of Contract with D. Edward Daugherty, CPA, Senior Internal Auditor for the 2004/2005 Fiscal Year. Fiscal impact on the District is $81,132.00 (includes salary and fringe benefits). Funding source is General Fund.
