Approval of Renewal (1) of the Use of Manatee Community College Request for Proposals for Technology Refresh Program - Dell Computers, MCSD No. 04-0008-BT

Approved of Renewal (1) of the Use of Manatee Community College Request for Proposals for Technology Refresh Program - Dell Computers to Dell Marketing Corporation (Request for Proposal was awarded to Dell Computer Corporation LP, Florida Document No. B94000000329), as required, for the period of June 8, 2004 through June 9, 2005, not to exceed $1,000,000.00. The expenditures will be charged to Various Technology funds. (Original Request for Proposal approved on June 2, 2003.)

Approval of Purchase(s) of Annual JDEdwards Response Line and Software Update

Approved the purchase of the Annual JDEdwards Response Line and Software Update from PeopleSoft in an amount not to exceed $161,000.00. The cost of this service will be funded from the Fiscal Year 2004-05 Budgetary Account: General Fund; Technology Information Services; Central Services; and Rentals. The fee covers unlimited telephone and Internet access support services, ongoing program fixes, and upgrades to all of the components of the software.

Approval of Contract with SmartWeb Technology, Inc. for Purchase of SmartWeb Classroom Management System (SwCMS®) Grade Book

Approved of the contract with SmartWeb Technology, Inc. for the purchase of SmartWeb Classroom Management System (SwCMS®) Grade Book. The estimated expenditure for the purchase of training, technical support and installation will not exceed $387,000.00.

Contracts and Grants

1. Approved of the Agreement Between Florida Power and Light and the Manatee County School Board for curtailable service at ten Manatee County schools. The service is a reduced rate in exchange for FPL to curtail our electric usage in the event there is a shortage of electricity. The 10 qualifying schools are: Bayshore High, Palmetto High, Lincoln Middle, Lee Middle, MTI (Manatee Technical Institute), Johnson Middle, Haile Middle, King Middle, Manatee High and Southeast High. This would in turn reduce the District's electric costs by approximately $66,000.00 a year.

2. Approval of Bayshore Elementary School - Contract to Purchase Additional Land at 2605 Bayshore Gardens Parkway, Bradenton - WITHDRAWN FROM AGENDA

3. Approved of Braden River Elementary School - Chiller Replacement - Agreement Between Owner and Construction Manager (NDC Construction Company) - Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP). The GMP is $192,548.65, which is included in the total project budget of $240,000.00, which includes equipment and miscellaneous construction related costs.

4. Approved of Braden River High School (High School “AAA”) - Amendment 3 - Agreement Between Owner and Construction Manager (W. G. Mills, Inc.). The fee for Amendment 3 is $197,088.00, which is included in the total project budget of $45,996,516.00.

5. Approved of Martha B. King Middle School - Agreement Between Owner and Architect/Engineer (GLE Associates, Inc.). The Architecture/Engineer fee is $797,845.00, which is included in Fiscal Years 2002/2003 and 2003/2004 total project budget of $18,290,888.00.

6. Approved of Palmetto High School - Trainable Mentally Handicapped Classroom Addition - Agreement Between Owner and Construction Manager (NDC Construction Company) - Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP). The GMP for the project is $73,927.50, which is included in the total project budget of $100,000.00, which includes equipment and miscellaneous construction related costs.

7. Approved of Sara Scott Harllee Middle School - Sanitary Sewer Repairs - Agreement Between Owner and Construction Manager (McIntyre Elwell & Strammer General Contractors, Inc.) - Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP). The GMP is $491,413.00, which is included in the total project budget of $750,000.00, which includes equipment and miscellaneous construction related costs.

8. Approved of School Support Center - Generator Replacement - Agreement Between Owner and Construction Manager (Willis Smith Construction Company, Inc.) - Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP). The GMP is $143,258.00, which is included in the total project budget of $150,000.00.

9. Approved of W. D. Sugg Middle School - Sanitary Sewer Repairs - Agreement Between Owner and Construction Manager (McIntyre Elwell & Strammer, General Contractors, Inc.) - Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP). The GMP is $455,148.00, which is included in the total project budget of $750,000.00, which includes equipment and miscellaneous construction related costs.
