10. Approved to renew the contract with Presbyterian Retirement Communities Inc., d/b/a Westminster Towers, for on-the-job training (OJT) for the 2004-2005 school year. This contract will provide high school Exceptional Student Education students with an OJT program. Cost of transportation for the 2004-2005 school year will be appropriately allocated through the Manatee County School Board Transportation Department budget and Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) funds.

11. Approved to renew the contract with Rick's Car City Inc., for on-the-job training (OJT) for the 2004-2005 school year. This contract will provide high school Exceptional Student Education students with an OJT program. 12. Approved of the agreement between the School Board of Manatee County and The Woods of Manatee Springs, Inc., for clinical experience for students in health occupation fields at Manatee Technical Institute for the 2004-2005 school year. There is no cost to the school system for this clinical experience over and above the insurance policies we already have in effect that cover our nursing students, paramedic students, etc.

13. Approved of the agreement between the School Board of Manatee County and Frances Tran, DMD for clinical experience for students in health occupation fields at Manatee Technical Institute for the 2004-2005 school year. There is no cost to the school system for this clinical experience over and above the insurance policies we already have in effect that cover our nursing students, paramedic students, etc.

14. Approved of the agreement between the School Board of Manatee County and Kirkland Dental Arts for clinical experience for students in health occupation fields at Manatee Technical Institute for the 2004-2005 school year. There is no cost to the school system for this clinical experience over and above the insurance policies we already have in effect that cover our nursing students, paramedic students, etc.

15. Approved of the agreement between the School Board of Manatee County and James A. Morrish, Jr., DDS for clinical experience for students in health occupation fields at Manatee Technical Institute for the 2004-2005 school year. There is no cost to the school system for this clinical experience over and above the insurance policies we already have in effect that cover our nursing students, paramedic students, etc.

16. Approved of the agreement between the School Board of Manatee County and Jeffrey Thompson, DMD for clinical experience for students in health occupation fields at Manatee Technical Institute for the 2004-2005 school year. There is no cost to the school system for this clinical experience over and above the insurance policies we already have in effect that cover our nursing students, paramedic students, etc.

17. Approved of the contract between Knowledge Learning Corporation, d/b/a Medallion School Partnerships, and the School Board of Manatee County to provide before- and after-school enrichment programs for the 2004-2005 school year. The elementary schools participating in the program are Braden River, McNeal, Miller, Orange Ridge-Bullock, Rowlett, Sea Breeze, Tara and Witt. The district will receive a lease payment from Medallion of $200.00 per week, per site for before-and after-school space usage. When a facility is used on days when school is not in session, Medallion will make a lease payment of $8.00 per hour for each hour of use beyond its normal daily usage.

18. Approved of contract with Manatee County Family YMCA (Young Men's Christian Association, Inc.) to provide “Pryme Time” before- and/or after-school programs for elementary students during the 2004-2005 school year. The elementary schools participating in the program are Abel, Ballard, Bashaw, Bayshore, Blackburn, Daughtrey, Freedom, Mills, Moody, Oneco, Palm View, Palma Sola, Prine, Samoset, Stewart, and Wakeland. Manatee County Family YMCA agrees to pay a facility rental fee of $5.00 per hour, per school site.

19. Approved of memorandum of agreement with Manatee County Family YMCA (Young Men's Christian Association, Inc.) to provide before- and/or after-school programs for middle school students during the 2004-2005 school year. The middle schools participating in the program are Braden River, Haile, Johnson, King, Lee, Lincoln, Nolan, and Sugg. The facility usage fees will be waived for this agreement.

20. Approved of the Client Fee Agreement between School Board of Manatee County, Florida and Edwards & Scharff LLP to provide legal services in connection with the Appeal of the Adverse Florida Division of Administrative Hearings Decision in T.D.F. v. Manatee County School Board and the Related Case of J.D. v. Manatee County School Board, et al. The fees for legal services rendered by Edwards & Scharff LLP will be incurred at a rate of $175.00 per hour. The minimum time charged for any particular activity will be one quarter of an hour. In addition to legal fees, the School Board of Manatee County agrees to reimburse Edwards & Scharff LLP for all costs and expenses incurred in the rendering of such legal services.
