Approval to Submit, Accept and Expend the $150,000.00 SUCCEED Florida Grant for the Allied Health Programs at Manatee Technical Institute for 2007- 2008 School Year

Description

Manatee Technical Institute is adding to its health occupations programs. The new school year program offerings will include Surgical Technician and Hemodialysis Technician. These are two programs on the district's targeted occupations list.  Area employers have asked Manatee Technical Institute to offer these programs.

 

The funds received will be used to get these programs started, to recruit students, market the program and to support to help them achieve completion and placement.

 

The Superintendent recommends approval to submit, accept and expend the $150,000.00 SUCCEED Florida Grant for the Allied Health Programs at Manatee Technical Institute for 2007- 2008 school year.

 



Recommendation

Motion and approval to approval to submit, accept and expend the $150,000.00 SUCCEED Florida Grant for the Allied Health programs at Manatee Technical Institute for 2007- 2008 school year.

 



Financial Impact

The School Board of Manatee County would receive funds in the amount of $150,000.00 for Manatee Technical Institute’s Allied Health programs.
