Agenda Item #41 Title Approval of the Report of Teachers who are Out-of-Field in Their Subject Area(s) Description The Out-of-Field Plan for Manatee County Schools provides that teachers are notified of their out-of-field status at the point that the current certification that they hold does not meet the required certification for the subject(s) they are teaching. State School Board Rule 6A-1.0503 provides that any out-of-field teacher must be appointed by the school board as being out-of-field after verification that an appropriate certified teacher is not available. The attached list of teachers was appointed by the School Board as out-of-field. These teachers must take a minimum of six semester hours toward certification within the school year.
The Superintendent recommends approval of the report of teachers who are out-of-field in their subject area(s). Any person who desires to appeal any decision made by the School Board with respect to any matter considered at the above-mentioned meeting will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purpose may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which an appeal may be based. School Board meetings are held in accessible locations. Auxiliary aids will be provided, upon written request received at least 48 hours prior to the meeting, to participants with disabilities. |
