Executive Summary
The purpose and effect for the amendment to this policy is to establish that substitute applicants are responsible for their choices and actions. These applicants must clear a Level 2 screening and must pass a drug test prior to employment.
Approving the advertising and setting a public hearing assures compliance with the provisions of section 120.54 (3) (a) 1, Florida Statutes (2008). A copy of the proposed change is attached with new language indicated by underlining and deleted language indicated by strikethrough.
The Superintendent recommends approval of advertising a Notice of Rule Development to amend Policy 6.5, Substitute Employees, and setting a Public Hearing on the proposed amendment at the Board Meeting scheduled for October 12, 2009.
