The School Board of Palm Beach County issued bid #11C-46S for musical instruments and accessories – manufacturer discount. Musical instruments and accessories are utilized in all schools. In addition, Manatee High School is replacing outdated instruments and purchasing additional instruments to cover program expansion in the Band Department.

Vendors agreed to extend the pricing to the Manatee County School District under the same terms and conditions as the School Board of Palm Beach County. Copies of the bid specifications and pricing are on file in the Purchasing Department.

State Board Rule 6A-1.012(5) allows school boards to purchase from existing bids of other public entities upon agreement by the awarded vendor(s).

The School Board of Palm Beach County awarded their bid to the vendors on the attached list.

Motion and approval of the use of the School Board of Palm Beach County bid for musical instruments and accessories – manufacturer discount, as required, through February 12, 2014, in an amount not to exceed $200,000.00 annually.

The estimated cost to implement this agenda item will not exceed $200,000.00 annually.  The funding source for these annually estimated expenditures are General Fund, Special Revenue Fund, Capital Projects and Manatee High School Davis Building Project ($115,000.00), and are included in various approved department budgets.
