
Agenda Item #17 Title Approval of Bid on Livestock Barn Structures , MCSD No. 11-0044-MR - p.23 Executive Summary The School District has vocational agriscience programs at selected middle and high schools. A land lab is essential to complete the learning process in agriscience education. The land lab, where livestock structures are located, is an extension of the classroom that takes classroom knowledge to the hands-on level. Invitations for bid were submitted to eleven (11) suppliers. The School District received two (2) responsive bids and two (2) no bids. The remaining seven (7) suppliers did not respond to our invitation for bid. Bids were opened on March 8, 2011. The bid is recommended for award to Cherokee Inc, Parrish, FL, Florida Document No.P95000031856 and Pat Carlton Construction, Duette, FL, Florida Document No. J54394.
The Superintendent recommends approval of the bid on livestock barn structures, as required, for the period of April 12, 2011 through March 28, 2012, in an amount not to exceed $90,000.00.
