Approval of the Use of the Collier County Bid for Household Hazardous Waste Collection, MCSD No. 11-0051-MR - p.27
Collier County issued a bid, #95-5306, on household hazardous waste collection for classification, labeling, packaging, transportation and disposal of hazardous waste. Hazardous waste disposal services are required throughout the year for the disposal of wastes collected from school sites, the School Support Center, the Professional Support Center, the Maintenance Department, and the Vehicle Maintenance Department.
Vendor agreed to extend the pricing to the Manatee County School District under the same terms and conditions as the Collier County bid. Copies of the bid specifications and pricing are on file in the Purchasing Department.
State Board Rule 6A-1.012(5) allows school boards to purchase from existing bids of other public entities upon agreement by the awarded vendor(s).
Collier County awarded their bid to The Environmental Quality Control Company, Tampa, FL, Florida Document No. F03000006003.
Use of this bid assists the District in providing safe environments where students may learn, dream and achieve.
The Superintendent recommends approval of the use of Collier County bid for household hazardous waste collection, as required, for the period of April 12, 2011 through May 24, 2012, in an amount not to exceed $50,000.00.

The estimated cost to implement this agenda item will not exceed $50,000.00. The funding source for this annually estimated expenditure is Local Capital Improvement Millage and is included in the Maintenance and Operations Department approved budget.
