
Agenda Item #12 Title Career and Technical Education Month Presentation - p.16 Executive Summary Being that February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, the Adult, Career and Technical Education Department would like to celebrate by recognizing Manatee County School District teachers and staff members who are making a difference. Doug Wagner, Director of Adult, Career and Technical Education will present these individuals to the Board Members and Community. Each will read a passage of the Proclamation and talk for two minutes about their CTE program and recent award. Kimberly Lough – The National Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE) Ideas Unlimited Award. Cheryl McGrew – International Technology & Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA) Teacher of the Year Award in Elementary Education. Debra Smith - International Technology & Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA) Program of the Year Award in Elementary Education. Esperanza Gamboa – 2011 Unity Award from Biz941 and LaGuia Magazines for her efforts to encourage and promote diversity in our region. William James Tillett, Palmetto High School - First high school student to receive Master Microsoft Office Specialist certification. Recommendation Motion and approval to name February, 2011, as Career and Technical Education Month in the Manatee County School District.
