Executive Summary
The Waterford Early Reading Program is a supplemental academic program that will provide support. This software will facilitate the acquisition of literacy skills for English Language Learners at Abel Elementary. This contract will include ongoing technical support and professional development for teachers.
The total contract will be $25,938.00, for three Waterford Full Curriculum (Reading, Math and Science) Levels 1,2 and 3 concurrent licenses, software maintenance and support which includes online and telephone support, 4 days of onsite training as well as access to online training tutorials.
The implementation of the Waterford Early Reading program assists students in achieving the strategic objectives in Edvantage and the mission of the district.
The Superintendent recommends approval of the contract between the School Board of Manatee County and NCS Pearson Inc for the 2011 – 2012 school year for Abel Elementary School.

Motion and approval of the contract between the School Board of Manatee County and NCS Pearson Inc. for the 2011 – 2012 school year for Abel Elementary School.
Financial Impact
The estimated cost to implement this agenda item will not exceed $25,938.00. The funding source for this annually estimated expenditure is Title III, Part A, Supplementary Instructional Support for English Language.
