The School Board of Pinellas County issued a bid, #11-031-004 for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) filters and frames. HVAC filters and frames are required for use in all Manatee County School District facilities to maintain clean systems.

Vendors agreed to extend the pricing to the Manatee County School District under the same terms and conditions as the School Board of Pinellas County bid.  Copies of the bid specifications and pricing are on file in the purchasing department.

State Board Rule 6A-1.012(5) allows school boards to purchase from existing bids of other public entities upon agreement by the awarded vendor(s).

The School Board of Pinellas County awarded their bid to Andrews Filter and Supply Corporation, Orlando, FL, Florida Document No. 387120. 

Use of the Pinellas County bid for HVAC filters and frames is a prudent use of District funds, and allows the District to purchase products for the process of maintaining systems that provide appropriate indoor environments where students may learn, dream and achieve.

The Superintendent recommends approval of the use of the School Board of Pinellas County bid for HVAC filters and frames, as required, through November 13, 2011, in an amount not to exceed $150,000.00.

The estimated cost to implement this agenda item will not exceed $150,000.00.  The funding source for this annually estimated expenditure is Local Capital Improvement Millage and is included in the Maintenance & Operations District approved budget.
