From high school to college and beyond Career Pathways is an exciting program that links high school students to their college and career interests through their course of study. It allows students to begin a college-level technical major in high school, giving them a big head start in postsecondary education. By appealing to each student’s unique interests, Career Pathways motivates them to achieve and succeed. In a Career Pathways program, students must complete a series of sequential career and technical courses with an average grade of C or better. After completing these courses along with core academic courses, and passing required assessments, students are eligible to enroll in one of the partnering community colleges or technical institutes and receive college credit in that field. GPA and assessments vary with each post-secondary institution. Upon graduating from high school, Career Pathways students continue their education at one of the partnering community colleges or technical institutes, where they can earn an associate degree, certificate and/or license, depending on their program of study. Suncoast Career Pathways Consortium has developed partnerships for articulation programs between the Manatee and Sarasota County school districts and the following postsecondary institutions:
