Executive Summary
Manatee High School currently has two (2) 1997 480 ton McQuay centrifugal chillers that serve the campus with cold water as part of the designed system to provide conditioned air. One of the chillers has developed a significant internal refrigerant leak. The leak necessitated that the chiller be taken out of service. The repair required substantial disassembly of the chiller. The repair was ordered prior to Board approval in the amount of $32,863.00. Additional funds are are being requested do to unforeseen conditions anticipated during the repair. McQuay International is the only factory certified representative for McQuay chiller systems.
The purchase is recommended for award to McQuay International, Florida Document No.P05000005169.
The Superintendent recommends approval of the purchase from McQuay as factory certified representative for emergency repairs on chiller systems, through February 27, 2009, in an amount not to exceed $60,000.00

Financial Impact
The estimated expenditure for these purchases/services not to exceed $60,000.00. The requested expenditures will be charged to Special School Maintenance 41001011042.4350.8130.
