On August 20, 2008, the Department of Education approved federal funding for the School Board of Manatee County from the IDEA, Part B Preschool Grant. At that time, the estimated amount of roll forward funds for the 2008-2009 school  year was incorporated into the grant amount. On January 5, 2009, the approval letter for the actual roll forward and supplemental allocation amount of $21,251.80 was received in the district.

The roll forward and supplemental allocation funds from the IDEA, Part B Preschool Grant of $21,251.80 will be used to provide support including, additional teacher aide support as needed, health services, supplies, equipment, and additional indirect costs.

The Superintendent recommends approval to accept and expend roll forward and supplemental allocation funds for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Part B Preschool Grant for the 2008-2009 school year.

The District will receive $21,251.80 in roll forward and supplemental allocation funds, for a total of $341,261.80 from the IDEA, Part B Preschool Grant.
