Knowledge Learning Corporation provided before and after-school learning programs in several district schools during the 2007-2008 school year.  These programs were well attended and parents have requested the program be offered during the 2008-2009 school year.

Knowledge Learning Corporation would like to offer a Before and/or After School Enrichment Program at Braden River, McNeal, Orange Ridge-Bullock, Sea Breeze, Tara, and Witt Elementary Schools for those students whose parents need the provision of child care during this period of time.  Any student within Manatee County in grades K-5 may attend the programs that will operate Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  The program will be closed on Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.  Students will pay a fee to attend and Knowledge Learning Corporation will pay for lease of the facilities.  In addition to the current sites, KLC will now service Oneco and Palm View Elementary beginning February 10, 2009, through June 5, 2009.

The Superintendent recommends approval to amend the contract between Knowledge Learning Corporation and the School District of Manatee County to provide Before and/or After School Enrichment Programs at various elementary schools.

The District will receive a lease payment from Knowledge Learning Corporation of $300.00 per week per school site for use of space at the named schools from August 18, 2008 through June 5, 2009.
