Public Hearing for Consideration of Adopting Amendment to Policy 3.6, Copyright - p.20
Executive Summary
The purpose of the amendment is to update language regarding copyright laws for instructional materials and current technologies. The effect will be to clarify educational Fair Use, as applied to copyrighted material, and to provide for appropriate copyright resources for schools.
On June 28, 2010, the Board approved advertising the amendment to Policy 3.6 and setting a public hearing. On June 30, 2010, the advertisement appeared in The Bradenton Herald, which assures compliance with the provision of section 120.54 (3)(a)1, Florida Statutes (2009). In addition, the policy has been posted on the district website.
The Superintendent recommends approval of adopting an amendment to Policy 3.6, Copyright.
