The School Board approved the current Manatee District Student Progression Plan, which includes the promotion and remediation criteria for students in grades K through 12, on August 24, 2009.  Each year the Florida Department of Education identifies elements required in District Student Progression Plans.  The Curriculum and Instruction Division conducted a Board Workshop on June 7, 2010 to review the recommendations in the 2010-2011 Student Progression Plan.  The proposed revisions will reflect the District's updates to rule 4.9, Student Progression, 4.9.1 (Elementary School), 4.9.2 (Middle School) and 4.9.3 (High School). 

On June 28, 2010, the Board approved advertising the amendment to Policy 4.9 and setting a public hearing.  On June 30, 2010, the advertisement appeared in The Bradenton Herald, which assures compliance with the provision of section 120.54 (3)(a)1, Florida Statutes (2009). In addition, the policy has been posted on the district website. 

The Superintendent recommends approval of adopting an amendment to Policy 4.9, Student Progression, 4.9.1 (Elementary School), 4.9.2 (Middle School) and 4.9.3 (High School).
