Agenda Item #58 Title Approval to Terminate the Employment of Charles L. Ward Description Meeting to sign final order. On December 20, 2006, Dr. Dearing issued a recommendation for the termination of Charles L. Ward following an investigation conducted by the Office of Professional Standards. On December 21, 2006, Ward filed his Petition for evidentiary Hearing. On January 3, 2007, Ward was placed on paid administrative leave. On January 10, 2007, the Board granted Ward's request for an Evidentiary Hearing. On February 28, 2007, Ward was suspended without pay, pending the outcome of the evidentiary hearing. On March 9, 2007, the School Board held an evidentiary hearing. On May 2, 2007, a final hearing on Superintendent's recommendation for termination of employee, Charles Ward was held. Counsel for both parties were instructed to prepare a proposed final order. A proposed final order was agreed upon by the parties and filed with the Board. A copy of the stipulated final order is attached. The Superintendent recommends approval to terminate the employment of Charles L. Ward.
