Agenda Item #6 Title Staff Celebration Description Janice Novello, a teacher at Dan Nolan Middle School, has been chosen to participate in a two-week astronaut training program at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL. Novello was selected to join more than 250 science and math teachers from 21 countries and 43 states at the 2007 Honeywell Educators @ Space Academy program that will run from June 18 - 29, 2007. "The Space Academy program is designed to help teachers inspire the next generation to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math, by providing memorable, life-changing science material for their classrooms." Tom Buckmaster, president of Honeywell Hometown Solutions, stated in the press release. "Honeywell is committed to providing teachers like Dr. Novello with programs, experiences and resources that assist in bringing science to life for their middle school students."
