The  Pasco County School District issued a bid for the purchase of USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) Commodity Turkey Processing, bid No. 09-112-DR. Commodity processing allows schools to send USDA donated foods to processors who have been approved by the state or the USDA. Commodity processing allows schools to better utilize USDA donated food by converting them into usable food products.  The vendor has agreed to extend the pricing to the Manatee County School District under the same terms and conditions as the Pasco County School bid. Copies of the bid specifications and pricing are on file in the Purchasing Department.

State Board Rule 6A-1.012(5) allows school boards to purchase from existing bids of other public entities upon agreement by the awarded vendor(s).

The Pasco County School District awarded their bid to, Jennie-O., Willmar, MN., Florida Document No. not required.

The Superintendent recommends approval of the Use of Pasco County School District Bid for USDA Commodity Turkey Processing, as required, for the period of July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010, in an amount not to exceed $160,000.00.
