Title
Approval to Accept and Expend the State Voluntary Public School Choice Grant Funds for the 2006-07 School Year in the Amount of $100,000.00

Description

On January 10, 2007, the Board approved the renewal application for the district Choice grant.  The district is in receipt of the Florida Department of Education Project Award Notification letter which is attached.  

Consistent with the requirements of the grant program, the funds approved will be used primarily to continue the operation of the Parent Information Center, which is essential to insuring parents' access to information about our schools.  In addition, we have agreed to mentor Lee County in designing their Choice program.  The award period extends through September 30, 2007.

The Superintendent recommends approval to accept and expend the State Voluntary Public School Choice Grant Funds for the 2006-07 school year in the amount of $100,000.00.



Recommendation

Motion and approval to accept and expend the State Voluntary Public School Choice Grant Funds for the 2006-07 school year in the amount of $100,000.00.

 



Financial Impact
The fiscal impact is an increase of $100,000.00 for this funding period.
