This bid is to cover all state mandated inspection and repairs to all fire extinguisher and kitchen hoods within the District. The committee recommends awarding as primary vendor All Florida Fire Equipment and secondary vendor Simplex Grinnell to ensure availability for services. The committee awarded on a low total basis.

Invitations for bid were submitted to sixty-three (63) suppliers.  The School District received five (5) responsive bids, one (1) non-responsive and one (1) no bids. The remaining fifty-six (56) suppliers did not respond to our invitation for bid.  Bids were opened on February 20, 2007.

The invitation for bid is recommended for award to All Florida Fire Equipment, Florida Document No. P99000082845 and Simplex Grinnell, Florida Document No. B01000000134.

The Superintendent recommends approval of the invitation for bid on fire extinguisher and kitchen hood maintenance, for the period of March 13, 2007 through March 12, 2008, in an amount not to exceed $100,000.00.
