Executive Summary
The purpose and effect for this new rule is to establish procedures that ensure the security of District-owned facilities in regards to security; storing, distributing and collection of keys; access cards; and security of alarm codes.
Approving the advertising and setting a public hearing assures compliance with the provisions of section 120.54 (3) (a) 1, Florida Statutes (2008). A copy of the proposed rule is attached.
The Superintendent recommends approval of advertising a Notice of a Proposed New Rule, Policy 8.22, Building Security, and setting a Public Hearing on the proposed new rule at the Board Meeting scheduled April 27, 2009.
