Approval of the New Agreement Between the School Board of Manatee County and Goodwill Industries-Manasota, Inc., for On-the-Job Training for Eligible High School Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Students for the School Years 2009-2011 - p.58
The School Board has, over the years, contracted with several providers for on-the-job training (OJT) career experiences for Exceptional Student Education (ESE) students as they transition from school to work.
In order for the students to participate in this type of on-the-job career experience program, it is necessary for each of the participating providers to sign an agreement with the school system.
This contract will provide high school ESE students who are enrolled in an OJT program to earn elective credits toward a Standard or Special Education Diploma. The program will satisfy course credit requirements, as well as place emphasis on career and employability skills. An ESE teacher or job coach will provide supervision of the students.
The Superintendent recommends approval of the new agreement between the School Board of Manatee County and Goodwill Industries-Manasota, Inc., for on-the-job training for eligible high school Exceptional Student Education (ESE) students for the school years 2009-2011.
