Approval of Bid on School Bus Parts, MCSD No. 10-0048-SM - p.32

Executive Summary

This bid is to establish a firm percentage discount to be deducted from the current preprinted catalog prices and/or an established price list for school bus parts used in the repair of the district’s bus fleet. In order to meet the needs of the Vehicle Maintenance Department and in the best interest of the School District of Manatee County, awards were made to all vendors who offer fixed percentage or cost plus discount(s) and comply with  all specifications, terms and conditions of this bid.

 

Vehicle Maintenance Department allows the District to remain in compliance with state regulations, providing a safe environment throughout the District.

 

The bid was submitted to seventy one (71) suppliers.  The School District received twelve (12) responsive and six (6) no bids. The remaining fifty three (53) suppliers did not respond to our bid.  The bid was opened on Wednesday, April 7, 2010.

 

The bid is recommended for award to vendors on the attached list.

 

The Superintendent recommends approval of the bid on school bus parts, for the period of May 11, 2010 through May 10, 2013, in an amount not to exceed $400,000.00 per year.

Motion and approval of the bid on school bus parts, for the period of May 11, 2010 through May 10, 2013, in an amount not to exceed $400,000.00 per year.



Financial Impact

The estimated cost to implement this agenda item will not exceed $400,000.00 per year. The funding source for these estimated expenditures is General Fund and is included in the Vehicle Maintenance Department approved budget.
