The School Board of Manatee County, FL and the City of Palmetto, FL has collaborated on the design of a fiber optic conduit system to be shared by both parties.  The Interlocal Agreement defines the rules and responsibilities of both entities in the use of the conduit system.

The Superintendent recommends approval of the Interlocal Agreement between the School Board of Manatee County, FL and the City of Palmetto, FL for joint ownership and use of the Fiber Optic Conduit System along 17^th Street West in Palmetto, FL.

Construction for the phase defined in this Interlocal agreement has been completed and paid for by the school district as part of the larger county wide fiber optic network project which connected our north river schools to the school district's fiber optic network.  A one time payment of $21,429.92 is due by the City of Palmetto to buy into this segment of the system and fulfill this agreement.
