Public Hearing for Consideration of Adopting an Amendment to Policy 3.9, Political Activity
Executive Summary
The purpose of the amendment is to clarify that prohibited political activity does not include communications concerning an issue, referendum, or amendment, including any State question that is subject to a vote of the electors that may impact the school district.
On September 27, 2010, the Board approved advertising the proposed amendment to Policy 3.9, and setting a public hearing. On September 29, 2010, the advertisement appeared in The Bradenton Herald, which assures compliance with the provision of section 120.54 (3)(a)1, Florida Statutes (2009). In addition, the policy has been posted on the district website.
The Superintendent recommends approval of adopting an amendment to Policy 3.9, Political Activity.
