Approval of the Contractual Services Purchase Order Acceptance Agreement to Renew the Services and Duration of the Agreement Between the State of Florida Department of Health and the School Board of Manatee County for the 2010-2011 School Year
Executive Summary
The Manatee County Health Department and the School Board of Manatee County have collaborated on provision of services through the comprehensive School Health Grant for many years. This Agreement provides funding for Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) clinic staff (one LPN for Blackburn Elementary and one LPN for Palmetto High School) to comply with the activities required under the School Health Grant.
Renewal of this Agreement continues to provide additional health related activities, such as health education for students and school staff. The LPNs will be employees of the School Board of Manatee County.
This Contractual Services Purchase Order Acceptance Agreement will provide services from November 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011.
This is one of several collaborative relationships between the Health Department and the School District promoting students to be healthy and ready to learn, dream, and achieve.
The Superintendent recommends approval of the contractual services purchase order acceptance agreement to renew the services and duration of the agreement between the State of Florida Department of Health and the School Board of Manatee County for the 2010-2011 school year.
Recommendation
Motion and approval of the contractual services purchase order acceptance agreement to renew the services and duration of the agreement between the State of Florida Department of Health and the School Board of Manatee County for the 2010-2011 school year.
Financial Impact
The Department of Health will reimburse the school district, on a monthly basis, a total dollar amount specified by the Department of Health not to exceed $30,078.00 in salary for two clinic support staff positions.
