Section 1013.35, Florida Statutes, requires that the district school board shall annually consider and adopt the tentative district educational facilities plan completed pursuant to subsection (2) of the aforementioned statute.  The statute also allows for amendments to the plan as necessary.

The statute also requires that the adopted district educational facilities plan shall:

1. Be a complete, balanced, and financially feasible capital outlay financial plan for the district.
2. Be set forth in the proposed commitments and planned expenditures of the district to address the educational facilities needs of its students and to adequately provide for the maintenance of the educational plant and ancillary facilities, including safe access ways from neighborhoods to schools.

The statute requires that provision be made for public comment concerning the plan.

The Superintendent recommends approval of the Tentative District Educational Facilities Plan.
