Approval of Appointment of Superintendent on an Interim Basis
Executive Summary
On September 10, 2012, Superintendent Dr. Tim McGonegal notified the Board of his resignation effective immediately. The School Board appointed Robert Gagnon as Superintendent for an interim length of time, effective September 11, 2012, the length of time of his appointment to be determined at this regular meeting.
The School Board will discuss their preference for the appointment of an interim superintendent.
Recommendation of the Board Chair is to motion and approve to appoint a Superintendent on an interim basis.

Financial Impact
If a new interim Superintendent is appointed savings realized from holding Mr. Gagnon's position as Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning vacant will be lost, and a new compensation package will have to be negotiated.
