Agenda Item #33 Title Approval of the 2012-2013 School Improvement Plans - p.54 Executive Summary As required by Manatee School Board Policy 2.11 and Florida Statute 1001.42, School Improvement Plans (SIPs) will be written at each school to address that school's needs regarding State goals, School Board goals and District priorities. School Improvement Plans are designed to achieve the state education priorities and student performance standards. In order to continually evaluate their students' progress, schools have developed School Improvement Plans for the 2012-2013 school year with measureable objectives that focus on improving student achievement. Each school has placed their School Improvement Plan on the Florida Bureau of School Improvement website (www.flbsi.org) as required by the Florida Department of Education. Schools that received a grade of "D" or "F" were required to submit the full School Improvement Plan located on the www.flbsi.org website. Schools that received an "A", "B", or "C" grade were given the option of completing a shortened version of the SIP, which was created by the school district and approved by the Florida Department of Education. Seven versions of the shortened SIP were available for the schools' use, each of which were tailored to the requirements for either Title I or non-Title I elementary, middle, high or mixed grades schools. For the convenience of Board members school staff, parents and the general public, links to each school's School Improvement Plan has been placed on the District internet in a link entitled "School Improvment Plans, 2012-2013." The Superintendent recommends the approval of the 2012-2013 School Improvement Plans. Recommendation Motion and approval of the 2012-2013 School Improvement Plans.
