Executive Summary
The Cooperative Purchasing Network (TCPN), issued proposal 10-23 for maintenance services, equipment upgrades, repairs, and new installations for elevators, escalators, moving walkways, terminal bridges, and baggage handling systems.
The awarded vendor agreed to extend the pricing to the Manatee County School District under the same terms and conditions as the TCPN proposal. Copies of the proposal specifications and pricing are on file in the purchasing department.
State Board Rule 6A-1.012(5) allows school boards to purchase from existing proposals of other public entities upon agreement by the awarded vendor(s).
TCPN awarded their proposal to Thyssenkrupp Elevator, Tallahassee, FL, Florida Document No. P99000004915, local office in Bradenton.
Utilizing this bid allows the District to maintain facility elevators in compliant operating condition, which contributes to safe learning environments where students may learn, dream and achieve.
The Superintendent recommends approval of the use of the TCPN proposal for maintenance services, equipment upgrades, repairs, and new installations for elevators, escalators, moving walkways, terminal bridges, and baggage handling systems, as required, for the period of January 1, 2013 through September 30, 2013, in an amount not to exceed $75,000.00.

Financial Impact
The estimated cost to implement this agenda item will not exceed $75,000.00. The funding source for this annually estimated expenditure is Local Capital Improvement Millage and is included in the Maintenance and Operations Department approved budget for the fiscal year 2012/2013.
