Approval to Apply, Accept and Expend the Florida Department of Education Voluntary Prekindergarten Assessment Implementation Grant in the Amount of $6,540.00 - p.32

Executive Summary

The Manatee County School Board is requesting funds for a Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Assessment Implementation Grant to ensure valid and reliable data collection and support of the staff administering the assessment.

The funding provides training to VPK teachers on the VPK Assessment and the online reporting system, assurances that VPK Assessment is administered with validity, accuracy and according to the guidance provided through training and outlined in the Florida VPK Assessment Teacher's Manual (3rd edition) and will provide substitutes to cover classes for trainings and student data analysis.  A Program Manager will oversee all aspect of the grant.

The Superintendent recommends approval to apply, accept and expend the Florida Department of Education Voluntary Prekindergarten Assessment Implementation Grant in the amount of $6,540.00.

Motion and approval to apply, accept and expend the Florida Department of Education Voluntary Prekindergarten Assessment Implementation Grant in the amount of $6,540.00.



Financial Impact

If awarded, the District will receive approximately $6,540.00 for the budget period October 11, 2012 to July 31, 2013.
