Approval of the Use of the State of Florida Contract for Office Furniture and Files, MCSD No. 12-0069-MR - p.37

Executive Summary

The State of Florida issued a bid, #425-001-12-1 for office furniture and files.  Office furniture is required for all new school campuses and replacement furniture is needed as required for all school sites and departments throughout the district.

 

Vendors agreed to extend the pricing to the Manatee County School District under the same terms and conditions as the State of Florida Contract.  Copies of the bid specifications and pricing are on file in the Purchasing Department.

 

State Board Rule 6A-1.012(5) allows school boards to purchase from existing bids of other public entities upon agreement by the awarded vendor(s).

 

The contract is recommended for renewal to Hon, Muscatine, IA, Florida Document No. not required, Freedman’s Office Furniture (dealer), Tampa, Fl, Florida Document No. H14715. 

 

The Superintendent recommends approval of the use of State of Florida contract on office furniture and files, as required, March 27, 2012 through March 1, 2016, in an amount not to exceed $200,000.00 annually with the exception of the first year being $550,000.00 to cover purchases for Manatee Technical Institute SR 70 campus.

Motion and approval of the use of State of Florida contract on office furniture and files, as required, March 27, 2012 through March 1, 2016, in an amount not to exceed $200,000.00 annually with the exception of the first year being $550,000.00 to cover purchases for Manatee Technical Institute SR 70 campus.



Financial Impact

The estimated cost to implement this agenda item will not exceed $550,000.00 for the first year and $200,000.00 annually, each year thereafter.  The funding source for this annually estimated expenditure is Capital Fund and is included in the Districts' approved budget.
