
Agenda Item #21 Title Approval of Renewal (2) on the Use of the School Board of Sarasota County Bid for Security Systems - Installation, Repair, Parts and Consumables, MCSD No.11-0011-MR - p.28 Executive Summary On April 25, 2011, the Board approved the use of the School Board of Sarasota County bid for security systems: installation, repair, parts and consumables # 0599. The contract is subject to renewal under the same terms and conditions as the original proposal at the option and agreement of all parties for two (2) additional one (1) year periods. Ten (10) vendors have agreed to renew their proposal and two (2) vendors GSA Security and Integrated Services Corporation declined the renewal, for the period of May 18, 2012 through May 17, 2013. The contract has been reviewed and found to be satisfactory under the original bid terms and conditions. The School Board of Sarasota County awarded their bid to vendors on attached list. Purchase orders will not be issued to suppliers that require Florida Document numbers until those requirements have been met. State Board Rule 6A-1.012(5) allows school boards to purchase from existing bids of other public entities upon agreement by the awarded vendor(s). Use of this bid assists the District in providing safe environments where students may learn, dream and achieve. The Superintendent recommends approval of renewal (2) of use of the School Board of Sarasota County bid for security systems: installation, repair, parts and consumables, as required, for the period of May 18, 2012 through May 17, 2013, in an amount not to exceed $100,000.00.
