Description:
Cinderella is one of
the most well-known stories around the world. The earliest
recorded version, Yeh-shen, is from ninth century China. The
tale always centers around a kind heroine who is persecuted
by members of her stepfamily after the death of her mother.
There is a magical guardian who helps grant her a wish. The
guardian is sometimes represented by her dead mother. The
tale also usually involves an epiphany sparked by an article
of clothing that causes the heroine's true worth to be
recognized.

Each grade level will
take a Cinderella story from a country in the continent they
are studying. Using graphic organizers created in
AppleWorks, the classes will compare and contrast
their tales with the classic Cinderella tale. The teachers
will display the graphic organizers on television monitors
connected to their computers. Students' responses will be
added to the organizers, saved, and printed
out.
