PBS: What is it?

Prine Elementary is a PBS School.   PBS stands for Positive Behavior Support. PBS provides a positive and

effective alternative to the traditional methods of discipline. The positive refers to a change of focus from

reactive, constantly pointing out what students did wrong (negatives), to proactive teaching and recognizing

what children are doing right (positives).

What are the expectations for Prine Students?

We expect our students to be Prine Heroes.   A Hero is a student who

     E xhibits Responsibility

     R emembers Safety

     O pens His or Her Mind to Learning

What are Hero Dollars?

If a staff member notices a child being a Prine Hero, they may reward them with a Prine Hero Dollar.

What can you get with Hero Dollars?

Hero Menu

15       Ice Cream

30       Patrol Helper

40       Media Helper

50        School-wide Special Event

60        Guest on the morning news

100      Coach's Helper

200      2 Hours helping Assistant Principal or Principal

___      Classroom Item (teacher's option)

What are the school-wide special events?

At the end of every month, a special event is planned for students who save 50 Hero Dollars.
