Word of the Day is "recalcitrant." Earn "skip-to-the-front-of-the-lunch-line" passes for using recalcitrant in a sentence.

 

Parking Passes on Sale - Student parking passes will be sold starting Monday, Sept 10th. The cost is $20 and forms are available in Ms. Kaylor's office - room #126. All students who park in the parking lot are required to purchase a pass.

 

Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors interested in attending Manatee Technical Institute: The TABE Test will be administered on Bayshore's campus during the school day on Thursday, October 11th. This is the required entrance exam for MTI. Interested students should sign-up at the Guidance Desk. Any questions, please see Mrs. Roberts, Office 109.

 

Tennis - There will be open tennis courts on Wednesday from 3 PM until 4:30. Any students who wish to use the courts should bring a tennis racquet. Balls will be provided. Come out and have fun.

 

Manatee County Youth Commission - seeking Bayshore High School students in grades 9 through 11 to serve on their organization this year. See Coach Brady for more info or an application.

Federal Deadline

Online applications must be submitted by midnight Central Time, June 30, 2013.

Any corrections or updates must be submitted by midnight Central Time, September 23, 2013.

 

College Deadline

Check with the college(s) you are interested in attending. You may also want to ask your college about their definition of an application deadline - whether it is the date they receive your FAFSA, or the date your FAFSA is processed.

Bright Futures

 

2011-12 High School Graduates

    Increase in community service requirement (and hours increase for Florida Academic Scholars) for all three Bright Futures award levels. Bright Futures Florida Academic Scholars (FAS), Florida Medallion Scholars (FMS), and Florida Gold Seal Vocational Scholars (GSV) during the 2011-12 academic year, and thereafter, must complete:

 

        FAS – 100 hours

        FMS – 75 hours

        GSV – 30 hours

    The Florida Department of Education is required to approve home education community service hours for Bright Futures initial eligibility.

    A pilot program was created at the University of Florida to provide for a Bright futures cohort of initial students whose program funding will be limited to spring and summer on-campus classes beginning with the 2012-13 academic year.
