Accolades:
Elizabeth is an AP Scholar and was awarded the
National Business Education Award in 2011 by the
United States Achievement Academy. She was the
recipient of the Harvard Book Award in 2011, and has
received the Braden River Academic Letter for three
straight years. Elizabeth has served as Vice
President of the National Honor Society, Vice
President of Academic team, and the President of
French Club. She is also an active member in Student
Government and Senior Advisory Board, and was
elected Student Representative of the Student
Advisory Council. She is also the lead Prosecuting
Attorney in Braden Riverīs Mock Trial team. After
leading a group of 8 students in an independent
study course (AP European History) last year, she is
now teaching a class before and after school on
Wednesday afternoons. Introduced to FBLA in the 10th
grade, Elizabeth is now serving as the Chapter and
District President. Other clubs Elizabeth has been
involved in include Key Club and Junior Advisory
Board.
Accomplishments:
Elizabeth has dedicated a tremendous number of hours
to serving her community, especially through the
HOPE program which she helped found in 2008. As the
Vice President of HOPE, she helps feed over 200
families every month, mows lawns for widows and
elders, and works with the Bradenton Police
Department on workshops aimed to reduce teen gang
involvement, pregnancy, drug-abuse, and dropout
rates. She is currently working on establishing a
program in which she will be visiting and counseling
teens in the Department of Juvenile Justice.
Aspirations:
Elizabeth hopes to attend Harvard University, where
she plans to pursue a major in Political Science and
become a Doctor of Law. Her greatest desire is to
make a difference in the world.
*(The
ACT exam consists of four parts: English Language,
Reading, Mathematics and Science. Each category
receives a score between 1 (lowest) and 36
(highest). Those four scores are then averaged to
generate the composite score used by most colleges.
The average composite score is roughly a 20. That
is, about 50% of test-takers score below a 20.)

auditorium.

The newspaper and yearbook need You
Any student interested in Newspaper or Yearbook needs to
fill out an application.
Applications are available in Mrs. Bieber's Room 735, Ms.
Reid's Room 739 or

The deadline is Feb. 24th. You must turn in an application
to be considered for
Newspaper or Yearbook. A list of approved students will be
sent to the guidance
department. Please see Mrs. Bieber or Ms. Reid if you have

Attention to all those students interested in running for
the 2011-2012 Mr. and Miss Braden River High School:
There will be a mandatory meeting on Monday, March 5th
at 2:30 pm in the Media Center
regarding the rules and regulations of being a part of this
pageant event. Applications
will be handed out at this meeting so please make sure you
attend. The Braden River
pageant is scheduled for Thursday March 29st
at 7:00 pm. We are looking for all
grades to participate as we will crown a representative from
each class to be the
royal court of Mr. and Miss BRHS.
