Esperanza Gamboa - MTI Farmworker Education Coordinator
Esperanza Gamboa, the MTI Farmworker Education Coordinator, visited Mr. Gaynor's
Entrepreneurship class to meet with FBLA students preparing for their Emerging Business Issues competition.
Supporting the Business & International Studies Academy's Level-3 Integration Theme of International
Business Issues, Ms. Gamboa discussed the pros & cons of the proposed "Temporary Work VISA For
Undocumented Men & Women" ...the theme the FBLA students will need to debate in competition at
the District Leadership Conference in Sebring. Thank you Ms. Gamboa for thoroughly covering
all the issues, for putting a "face" on Farmworker Child Labor in our Manatee County
and Florida fields, and for meeting with our class and FBLA members.

bringing high school prom dreams to reality

The Manatee Education Foundation is kicking off a new project this year in conjunction
with the Suncoast for Kids Foundation and several other local businesses. We have
created the Prince Charming & Cinderella Project to help underprivileged students
to attend prom. We realize that a lot of students do not even consider prom due
to the expenses associated with the event.

We will offer tuxedo rentals for boys and dresses, shoes, accessories and
even free beauty services (hair, make-up, nails) for the girls.
