Key Club wins at Campout for a Cause

Over the weekend, the BRHS Key Club participated in Lakewood Ranch's Campout
for a Cause, a concert and overnight campout to raise money for a variety of charities.
We had over 50 BRHS students attend, raised over $1000, and won both awards given out.
Samantha Schneider, our club president, won for Most Items Donated/Money Raised for
an Individual and the BRHS Key Club won for the Team category. We had more students
attend than all the other high schools combined. We would like to thank Coach
Valcarcel and Ms. Witham for attending and helping to chaperone the event.
Congratulations to our committee chair Madison McKinnis for making it so successful.

Sign-In/Sign-Out Procedures

If a student arrives at school after 7:45 am, he/she should go to student services and sign-in.
Students are required to have their student IDs when signing in or out of school. With the
proper state-mandated documentation, parent sign-in or parent note (limited to 2 per
quarter), the student will be given a pass and sent to class. If you are late more than
twice a quarter, appropriate documentation is required. After you have used your
two tardies, a parent or parent note is NOT considered appropriate
documentation. Students who show up on campus and do not sign in,
but simply go to class next period, will be considered skipping and
will receive the appropriate consequence.

Students needing to leave campus for appointments during the day must bring a note to the
Attendance Office prior to 7:30 am that morning to receive a release pass. The note must
contain student name, grade, parent/guardian’s name and signature, home phone, work
phone, brief explanation of reason, date and time to be released, and parent/guardian
signature. Students who are 18 or older can not sign themselves out without following
the above rules. It can be difficult to locate students (during lunch or when
classes are working in other areas) when parents show up without
advance notice. Only the note before school guarantees a timely
release of student.
