Mr. Adobe Certified Associate - Richard Platt

Congratulations to the mastermind of all things Adobe - Mr. Platt. He just finished the goal of earning his
national industry certification in Flash to go with his other certifications in Photoshop and Dreamweaver.
This is an amazing achievement and just one more example of why the Pirates are so proud.

Cox Chevrolet is teaming up with Braden River High School to raise awareness for a not-for-profit
organization called Cell Phones for Soldiers. Cell Phones for Soldiers hopes to turn old cell phones
into more than 12 million minutes of prepaid calling cards for U.S. troops stationed overseas. The
phones are sent to ReCellular, which pays Cell Phones for Soldiers for each donated phone enough
to provide an hour of talk time to soldiers abroad. Cox Chevrolet and Braden River High School are
competing with other Tampa Bay General Motors franchises and schools for a chance to win a free
in-school concert by the country band Steel Magnolia. Drop of locations are at Cox Chevrolet and
Braden River High School in Student Services.

The program starts April 1st and runs through 12:00 noon April 15th.

Pirate Puff game will be on Monday

Due to the weather expected on Thursday afternoon and the current
field conditions the Pirate Puff game has been cancelled and
will be rescheduled for Monday night April 4th at 6:00 pm.

Football 2011

All players and parents interested in participating in football for the 2011 season
are asked to attend a meeting on Wednesday, April 13th at 6:00 pm in the Media
Center. A separate meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 27th at 6:00 pm in
the Media Center for all incoming freshmen, and their parents, interested in
playing football in 2011.

Driver’s License Tests
Starting Monday, April 4, 2011 all road signs and road rules testing and driving tests
will be administered at the Manatee County Tax Collector’s Office. The Specialized
Driver License Department at the DeSoto office will be the only location administering
these tests. The Specialized Driver License Department is located at 819 301 BLVD W,
in Bradenton, next to the DeSoto Square Mall. All testing is by appointment only. If a
student is or has participated in Driver’s Education classes in the Manatee School District,
the student may be eligible to receive a driver’s license from one of three remaining Manatee

Miss and Mr. BRHS 2011-2012

Applications for the Miss and Mr. BRHS pageant are now available in Student Services. 
Applications and fees are due to Ms. Hazelton by Wednesday April 13th. Come and pick 
up your application to be the next "Miss BRHS" or "Mr. BRHS"! Please see Ms. Hazelton 
in student services with any questions you have concerning the pageant.

The Harlem Wizards Tricks, Hoops, and Alley Oops Tour is coming to 
Braden River High School on Friday, April 15th at 7:00 pm. 
They are a fun and energetic basketball team that puts on a 
fabulous show for the crowd, including trick hoops and alley oops. 
Tickets are $8.00 for children and $10.00 for adults at the door. 
A portion of the proceeds go to the BRHS Girls Basketball team.
