Military Ball is a Huge Hit

On Friday, March 23^rd the six high school JROTC programs of Manatee County held the annual

military ball which was hosted by Southeast High School at the Bradenton Auditorium. Approximately 500 cadets and dates participated in the event with BRHS having the largest number of attendees with 110 cadets and guests as well as Mr. and Mrs. Pauley and the BRHS instructors and their wives/dates. The location was beautifully decorated and the catered meal was wonderful. The cadets enjoyed an evening of dancing following the meal.

Parents: Please note that transportation to off-campus testing sites
is not provided by the school. Students may leave to go
directly home once they finish their exams.

Seniors will be able to pick up their yearbooks
beginning Wednesday, May 16th
at 12:30 pm in Room 739.

They may also pick them up before school
Thursday and Friday this week.

Individuals must show photo ID
and sign for their yearbooks.

Underclassmen have to
wait until next week.

On Monday during 1st period in the cafeteria
we will have the Yearbook Signing Party .

For a student to attend they must have a ticket and
their receipt. For more details contact Mrs. Reid.

Attention senior class of 2013, it is time to sign up for senior pictures.

The May 19th and 26th days are booked for senior pictures.

I will start signing up the summer dates next week.

The summer picture dates are June 25th-June 29th.

1st Annual East County Cup

Powder Puff Football Championships

BRHS vs LRHS

May 23rd at 6:00 pm
Admission is $5.00

On May 23rd at 6:00 pm, the first annual East County
Powder Puff Flag Football Championships will be held
on the football field at Lakewood Ranch High School.

THE GAMES:

BRHS 9th and 10th grade All-stars vs. LRHS 9th and 10th grade all- stars

BRHS 11th and 12th grade All-stars vs. LRHS 11th and 12th grade all-stars

All proceeds from this game will go to Braden River High School

and Lakewood Ranch High School.

American Red Cross has several summer opportunities for community service
that might interest High School students. These opportunities are available in
the Lakewood Ranch area as well as in west Bradenton, so students can
choose those most convenient.

In particular we have a week long Disaster Camp - I've attached a flyer.
This experience would be great for those considering a career in the
health occupations or military or emergency management or first
responders fields.

We also offer opportunities for teens aged 15 and up to become certified
Red Cross instructors and to teach first aid and disaster preparedness to
elementary aged students - flyer attached. This opportunity is perfect for
those who might be interested in teaching or in the health fields.

Junior League Manatee

This is a FANTASTIC opportunity for high school sophomores
(Junior 2012-2013) to participate in a county wide LEADERSHIP
program. Think: Golden Herald Award for Juniors. This is an
authentic learning opportunity and great for college resumes.

MEDICATION PICK UP

Parents: If your child has medication in the clinic, It will 
be necessary for you to pick up their medication on or 
before  12:00 noon on Thursday June 7th,  2012.   
Any medication not picked up will be destroyed.
