Pirates of the Day

Spanish 3 Scholars

Every year students learn the imperative tense in Spanish class. To practice, students can each come up
with an usted command (a polite way to tell you what to do) to give for their teacher to do. However, there
are certain requirements that a) it be all in Spanish, b) it be appropriate, c) it be original and d) it has to be
something they are willing to do alongside the teacher (to practice the nosotros 'Let's do this' command).
It is a fun way to take the language out of the classroom and put into real-life context! Every student says
it is one of their favorite activities they do all year long in class. This is Sra. Irias' Spanish 3 class from
1st hour. who commanded, "Saque una foto con Sr. Crumpler para hacernos Los Piratas del Día."
Can you guess what the command was in English?

As part of our focus on global cultures BRHS will offer a class in learning Chinese next year.
To give our students the very best opportunity to learn the language a teacher from China

that will sponsor her and invite her to live with them in their home.
